Schools
There are nine primary schools and three high schools in the Ministry Area, which includes the areas of Duffryn, Maesglas, Gaer, Rogerstone, Rhiwderin, Bassaleg, Clytha. As well as English speaking Local Authority run schools the area includes a Roman Catholic High School and a Welsh Medium High School.
The Ministry area is passionate about working with local schools and there is an active team visiting schools to deliver assemblies and support family learning. Our volunteers are have current DBS checks and comply with the Ministry Area and Church in Wales Safeguarding Policy.

Sharing Bible stories with children everywhere, through the power of storytelling. Open the Book is all about telling Bible stories, not preaching or evangelising, so children of all faiths and those with no faith can watch and interact with the stories in their own way • Open the Book is a scripted programme and we ask all Storytellers to stick to the script • A great deal of care and attention have gone into ensuring that the stories and assembly scripts are acceptable and accessible to the widest possible audience • The script also allows children of all faiths and those with no faith to decide if they would like to join in with the prayer or not
